Privacy Policy

Living with GRACE (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is developed and published by Mark Perry Consulting. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is protected. It is written to reflect exactly how the current version of the app behaves. Questions? support@mishwright.com.
Living with GRACE does not collect your data. Your health and activity information never leaves your device.
- There is no account to create and no sign-in to the app.
- We operate no server. We never receive your information, so we cannot read it, sell it, or share it.
- There is no analytics, advertising, tracking, or third-party data-collection code of any kind.
- The single exception is iCloud sync: your personal goal (just its name and weekly pattern) syncs through your own iCloud account so it appears on your other devices. We cannot access it. No health or activity data is ever put in iCloud.
You can delete everything the app has stored at any time from Settings → Delete All Data.
iCloud sync: what syncs, and what never does
If you are signed in to iCloud on your device, the app syncs one thing: your personal goal’s name and weekly pattern (for example, “My movement rhythm: Grit on Monday, Regulate on Tuesday…”), plus its skip allowance and whether its reminder is on.
- It syncs through your own private iCloud account, in Apple’s iCloud storage. It is not sent to us, and we have no ability to read it.
- Its purpose is simply so the goal you set up on your iPhone also appears on your iPad.
What never goes to iCloud:
- Your logged activities and anything read from Apple Health
- Your streaks and personal bests. These are calculated separately on each device from the activities logged on that device, which is why the number can differ between your devices
- Your first name
Health information is deliberately excluded. Apple’s App Store rules prohibit storing personal health information in iCloud, and it is the right default for this app regardless.
To turn sync off, go to iOS Settings → tap your name → iCloud → and turn off Grace, or sign out of iCloud. The app works fully without it; your goal simply stays on the one device.
What Living with GRACE stores on your device
All of the following is stored locally on your device only (the single exception is the goal definition described above). None of it is transmitted to us or to any third party.
Your first name (optional)
If you choose to enter a first name during setup, it is used only to personalise greetings and messages inside the app. You can skip this, and you can change or remove it later in Settings. Your name is stored in the device Keychain (Apple’s secure storage for sensitive values) and is not included in encrypted iCloud or iTunes device backups.
Activities and progress you record
The activities you log, your streaks, any planned activities, and your weekly progress are stored in the app’s local database on your device. This information stays out of iCloud and is not synced to any other device or service. (Your personal goal’s name and weekly pattern are the one exception; see “iCloud sync” above.)
Apple Health data (read-only, only if you allow it)
If you connect Apple Health, the app reads the workouts you’ve recorded, and nothing else, so it can recognise your movement automatically and count it toward the GRACE elements (Grit, Regulate, Accumulate, Cardio, Endurance) without you logging everything by hand. It does not read heart rate, steps, or any other Health data.
How Living with GRACE handles this data:
- Access is read-only. The app never writes anything to Apple Health.
- The app only keeps the result of recognising an activity (for example, “a workout on this date counted toward Cardio”), stored locally alongside your other activity data. It does not copy your entire Health record.
- Apple Health data is never transmitted off your device, never used for advertising or marketing, and never shared with anyone.
- You can decline this access entirely. The app still works; you’ll just log activities yourself. You can switch import off in the app’s Settings, or change access in the Health app or iOS Settings at any time.
App preferences and reminder settings
Your onboarding progress and preferences (such as whether you’ve enabled reminders, your reminder time, your chosen week-start day, and similar settings) are stored in your device’s standard app-preferences storage. These contain no health information.
Sharing your week
Living with GRACE can turn your previous week into an image you can post or send. This only ever happens when you tap Share.
- The image is created on your device. It is not sent to us, and we have no record of it.
- When you pick an app to share to, iOS hands the image to that app, and its own privacy policy applies from that point.
- The card shows which GRACE elements you logged on which days, the week’s dates, and a link. It contains no health measurements: no heart rate, steps, distance, calories, or anything read from Apple Health.
- Nothing is shared automatically, and nothing is shared if you never tap Share.
Reminders and notifications
If you turn on reminders, the app schedules them locally on your device. There is no push server involved and no reminder content ever leaves your device.
Reminder text may include your first name and a reference to a GRACE activity, so be aware that this text can appear on your lock screen. You can turn reminders off at any time in Settings, or adjust lock-screen visibility in iOS Settings → Notifications → Grace.
What Living with GRACE does not do
To be completely clear, the app does not:
- Create an account or require a login of any kind
- Collect your email address or phone number
- Operate a server, or send your information to us or any third party
- Put any health or activity data in iCloud
- Include any analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking code
- Embed any third-party software development kits (SDKs)
- Track you across other apps or websites
- Sell, rent, trade, or share your personal or health information
How your information is protected
- Sensitive values (your name) are stored in the device Keychain.
- Your activity data is stored in the app’s local, on-device database, protected by your device’s built-in encryption and passcode / Face ID / Touch ID.
- Because nothing is transmitted off your device, there is no server for your data to be exposed on.
Deleting your data
You are always in control of your data:
- Delete everything in-app: Settings → Delete All Data removes all locally stored information: your logged activities, streaks, goals, planned activities, your stored name, cancelled reminders, and your saved preferences.
- Delete the app: removing the app from your device deletes its local database and preferences. (If you have used a much earlier version of the app, a small amount of data may remain in the device Keychain after deletion; using Delete All Data before removing the app clears this.)
Delete All Data also removes your synced goal from your iCloud account, which means it disappears from your other devices too.
Because all data lives on your device, you can access it directly in the app and remove it yourself at any time. No request to us is required.
Children’s privacy
Living with GRACE is intended for adults and is designed for a midlife audience. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly handle information from children under the age required by your local law (for example, under 13 in the United States).
International users
Living with GRACE stores all information locally on your own device, wherever you are. We do not transfer your data across borders because we never receive it. Because your information stays under your direct control on your device, you can exercise data rights such as access and deletion yourself, directly within the app.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy to reflect changes in the app, we will revise it within the app and update the “Last updated” date above. Because the app has no way to email you, please review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
